Development Application Lodged
We are pleased to announce that the Mid West Wind Farm has formally submitted its Development Application to the City of Greater Geraldton, marking a major step forward in the project.
The lodgement of the application reflects years of planning, technical assessment, environmental studies and engagement with landholders, government agencies and local stakeholders. The Mid West Wind Farm has been carefully designed to harness the region's world-class wind resource while delivering long-term economic and community benefits to the Mid West.
The project is expected to play a key role in supporting Western Australia's energy transition by contributing new renewable generation capacity to the South West Interconnected System. In addition to clean energy production, the development has the potential to create jobs during construction and operations, attract further investment into the region, and support the growth of associated industries and infrastructure.
As part of the statutory planning process, the application is now available for public review through the City of Greater Geraldton, with submissions invited during the advertised consultation period. We welcome ongoing community participation and look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with local stakeholders as the project progresses through the approvals process. The application is currently being publicly advertised by the City, with submissions open until 21 October 2026. [cgg.wa.gov.au]
The submission of this application represents another important milestone in bringing the Mid West Wind Farm closer to delivery and reinforcing the Mid West's position as one of Australia's premier renewable energy regions.
